The first thing that i noticed is how weird sounding the intro and lead synth of the entire first minute is. It was really, really harsh to my ears, and it kep going until 1:30. After the first minute drop the song got really good , i think this track would be even better without that sample, For me it ruins the experience at least. Aside from that, i enjoyed the rest of the track

Why real guitaaaaaaaaar :c I really like this track but that midi like guitar kills it for me, if you have a decent mic (And not even a decent one would suffice lol), you could buy a cheap Mercury or Freeman guitar for 30$ bucks and get a much better sound out of it.

Aside from my hate to the plugin (lol), i like the track, the lead melody is very pleasant, and the mix is pretty clear and i like the variations that you added, my only real complain is that at 2:30 you add some kind of hi hat that are very harsh, toning them a bit down would make that part more enjoyable. Good job-

EctiBot responds:

Don't really have a good mic to record acoustic guitar atm :3. I'll probably buy one soon. Glad you liked the other aspects of the track ;). I turned down some of the higher frequencies of the hats and cymbal rides, so hope that's better.

Thx for the feedback :).

I suggest the same than the other comment, an ambient melodic break would totally take this track into a new level. It stands its ground on his own like this though, pretty good for a preview. My only complain is that the track is a tad too high in volume, i dont sense a lot of dynamics, every is kinda too strong, i can hear clearly every instrument though, i should tone the volume down (And the compression) in some of the tracks. Aside from that, really good.

JandreParis responds:

Hmmm.. I see, I see. There's definitely dynamics, it's just mastered a bit hot. I'll definitely try and tweak that a little more. The only thing that has compression is the drum kit. Literally the only thing. Off to fix the master I go! Thanks!

I loved this, it kinda sounds like something out of Starmade (A new Minecraft like game that happens in an open world universe heh), i liked the mixing but the track got a bit too strong in some moments, i had to tune down my volume knob (Something that i never do lol), aside from that, nice work <3 I love minimalism :3

TheMightyApple responds:

Thanks for the feedback! What you say about the volume true. Gonna fix it if it gets mastered :)

This is hilariously good. Really, the choice of synths and the melody itself made me smile like an idiot hahahahaha it's kinda happpy in a distorted way. I could totally picture this in a Megaman X game in a silly stage hahahaha Good Job ^-^

PS: Scouted You .3

TheMightyApple responds:

Thank you :) ^^

I enjoyed the peice, the mixing reminds me of the remastered Cave Story in a way (Which isn't bad, it's good in fact heh). It's a bit short (Even for a sample) so i can't give a better insight about the piece itself, the mix is pretty clear and balanced, i enoyed the percussion a lot, my only complain is some of the glitch noise you used, i found it a bit out of place, aside from that, good job.

bwmusic responds:

Thanks. I've only a few times played Cave Story, so I am not really remembering the sound. A lot of my glitch gets hit with bit and rate reduction, which I have been experimenting with a more dryer version. We'll see how it changes

Usually i dont enjoy glitch a lot, but i like what you did here, i don't know if it is the delay or the way you mixed it, but it has a ambiental vibe, i pictured myself in a Silent Hill-esque place while hearing this, definitively has that dark vibe.

My only complain is tat the noise gets kinda high at 2.00, i had to turn dowm the volume on my phones (Something i NEVER do lol), aside from that, i enjoyed this.

Azhthar responds:

Glad you liked it, especially if you don´t like glitch in general! Hmmm... I didn´t realize it was too loud at 2.00. I will have alook at this. Love the silent hill soundtracks although this wasn´t really inspiration for this one.

Thoughs: The intro is too long, you should use the first 5 seconds and then go straight for the piano. I am also not fond of the upbeat drums that go in, i don't find them fitting for an RPG setting. It is also extremely repetitiive, some kind of variation would help this a lot. The idea is good, melody is catchy, it has potential but it would need some work, specially about how is so repetitive.

The track is good overall, i have a problem getting into it though, we have the entire first minute of it basically following the same progression, then the we have a "drop" to keep following the same with a dubstep-ish lead. The drop itself is way toooooooo soft, it doesn't really build up anything. Aside from that, i enjyoed the track, the mix is good too (But i think the snare could get some work)

RandomDanceOfHappy responds:

bad habits are bad c.c
got in the habit of repeating the progression alot to make it more catchy but its hard to find that line of to much ad to little :p
i was asked to not make the drop to heavy and keep it smooth and simple and have a hint of hardstyle in this
the samples i used in this song are really old from what samples i woulda used now i dident notice how bad the snare was untill now c.c ill look in to fixing that and reuploaded the updated vs of this agen c.c
thanks for the good review n.n

This was... really unexpected, mix wise, the song is pretty clean, but i am not sure what did you try go here. This should have an experimental tag with it, also, i really can't see a dominance of jazz here. Definitively this is not my cup of tea but it isn't bad. I liked the synth arpegy c:
